ADMINISTRATOR ROLES ON FACEBOOK PAGES
If you are the owner of a Facebook Page, you will be excited to know that you can now add an unlimited number of administrators to help with the page. You can also assign them different roles, so that they have the right to do different things when they maintain the site.
This change sent out Facebook last week, and it’s good news for us who administer Facebook Pages. Here is Facebook’s own help forums administrator roles , if you want to sneak a peek for yourself.
How to add an administrator of a Facebook Page
Go to your page, choose Edit Page and then select Admin Roles from the Menu.
On this page you will see a list of your existing Facebook Page Administrators, if you want to add a click in the box that says Type a name or email . Enter the name of the person you wish to become an administrator, or enter their email address.
Click on the Manager and the small arrow below the field you just filled in. Then select the role you want the new administrator should have. Then you can choose to add more administrators or save it once the Facebook Page Admin have been updated.
You will be prompted to enter your password to continue. The password you enter is the same as when you log into your account on Facebook.
Five Different Types of Administrator Roles
This table lists the roles that are available for administrators to Facebook Pages, and what each role has the right to the page.
- Role: Manager
Managers can manage admin roles, send messages and create posts as the Page, create ads, and view insights.
- Role: Content Creator
Content Creators can edit the Page, send messages and create posts as the Page, create ads, and view insights.
- Role: Moderator
Moderators can respond to and delete comments on the Page, send messages as the Page, create ads, and view insights.
- Role: Advertiser
Advertisers can create ads and view insights.
- Role: Insights Analyst
Insights Analysts can view insights.
How to remove an administrator of a Facebook Page
You go in the same way as when you add an administrator. When the administrator to delete, click the X on the right. This gives you a choice and can remove the administrator.
Prior to this recent update, all Facebook Page Admin had equal access to create posts, view insights, manage applications, respond to fans and edit page settings. This is new update is very exciting because you wont need to be concerned that someone might have too much access and accidentally delete your Facebook Page. Make sure you change the access rights for your users accordingly and give give them what they need to accomplish their role -No more. No less!
