WordPress 2.9 Released

Today the development team over at WordPress.org proudly announced the release of WordPress 2.9 “Carmen”.
The latest release contains your standard bug fixes, standard functionality improvements and a few handy new features.
- A new recycle bin feature now called “trash”. So if you accidentally delete a comment or post you can retrieve it with ease.
- There’s a new built in image editor which I am particularly excited about allow you to crop,flip,scale any image you upload all within the comfort of your WordPress site.
- Batch plugin updates. Yep that’s right! You can finally update all of your outdated plugins in one shot.
- Easy video embeding ability which allows you to embed videos directly into posts now without the need for extra plugins. Just paste your video’s url and WordPress will automatically embed it into your post.
